Black Water Rising “Electrified” Released November 2017 on

Pavement Entertainment Inc

I am always amazed when a “Metal Head” says he or she has never heard Black Water Rising…… What?! Ok I understand, you only listen to FM radio, and that is your problem! BWR has been writing and performing their kickass Hard Rock sound since 2008, releasing their debut album “Black Water Rising” which did excellent, earning them a spot on the Sirius Satellite Radio's Octane channel for the singles "Brother Go On" and "No Halos". The album reached the #6 slot on the Top 20 airplay chart for the channel and "Brother Go On" also cracked the top 40 on the Media Base Active Rock Radio Chart. Now I am one of those folks who heard about BWR when their 2nd album “Pissed and Driven” came out, and I remember thinking “where the hell have I been, these guys are fantastic!” After scoring an interview with Rob and Odie in 2013 I instantly became a fan of the band; we got to watch them perform before the interview and that was all it took for us to get totally excited to sit down with the boys! BWR was doing a show opening for Kill Devil Hill and as it turns out BWR was the highlight of my night and I have been jonesing for another live show ever since! So, let’s talk about the new album “Electrified”. This new album is EVERYTHING I hoped it would be! It is so perfectly written in their bio that I am just going to quote it. “A collection of soul baring, angst ridden, riff heavy material that is proudly anchored in the foundations of traditional Hard Rock song writing. Giant guitar driven monster riffs served up on a bed of crushing grooves with soaring melodic vocals and big hooks. Basically, NO FRILLS RIFF ROCK!” If you are a video lover, BWR has released a killer video for their latest hit Payback, which was directed by Noah Shulman and Mike Meselsohn who really did a killer job bringing this song to a visually stunning music video that captures the essence of what this killer song is about! Folks, if you haven’t heard BWR you are simply missing out; “Electrified” will give you an experience that will keep you wanting more, an album that you will play over and over again, a sound that will stay in your head throughout your day, and an album that you will feel great about giving your hard earned money up to have! The boys are currently playing east coast shows local to their area so If you are on the eastern side of the US, I highly suggest you get your ass to a show; it would be worth your while even if that means driving a couple hours to see it! I am impatiently waiting for the boys to hit the west coast and with this review I am hoping that you too will want and demand to see this heavy metal underdog in a city near you! You can pick up BWR at most music outlets on line and in a store near you. Let’s show the boys some love and support, and let’s give the guys more reasons to get out on the road performing this fantastic new album! All I can say is PLEASE come back to the west coast!

Flaw “Divided We Fall” Released on Pavement Entertainment Inc. August 19, 2016

When I was sent the new Flaw album “Divided We Fall” I must say I was shocked! I hadn’t even heard the name Flaw come up in quite some time and assumed the band was gone for good; I mean, not many bands re-emerge after a 12-year hiatus. I also had no idea what to expect and how the band would sound. Once I was done scratching my head in amazement I quickly downloaded the new album and began to listen to what has turned out to be the hottest album the band has made to date! Flaw has been through a few lineup changes over the years but the one thing that has stood the test of time is the relationship and cohesion of vocalist Chris Volz and guitarist Jason Daunt. I can’t imagine how the two of them have been able to hold on to a dream and not only keep that dream alive, but absolutely outdo themselves with “Divided We Fall”

The quality of the performance, the tightness of the band, and the incredible writing on this album is stunning; yet there is so much familiarity to this album that lets the true fans know that this is still the band they have known and loved. Flaw has always had a great fan base and have always relied on that to keep them going through all the turbulent times they have been through. Now with the addition of Tommy Gibbons on Guitar, Jeff Dickie on Bass, and Skyler Martin on Drums, the band is writing and creating music that is truly their best sound to date and have managed to catch the attention of Pavement Entertainment Inc!

Flaw’s music is raw and heavy, with beautiful interludes and thought-provoking lyrics. The current struggles in this modern day are addressed on this album for sure. Their song Fed Up talks about the life threatening challenges our solders face and often are unable to cope with after their time in the military. The ridiculous division going on between the races of this world are addressed in Bleed Red, the amazingly positive lyrics of Do You Remember, talk about holding on to your dreams and that when we just try and don’t give up we have already won, and the high intensity of their songs Live and Breathe and Wipe Away the Dust will keep your head banging! If you’re a fan of Seven Dust, Disturbed, and Breaking Benjamin, you are going to love the latest offering “Divided We Fall” from Flaw. The band is currently touring the Midwest right now sharing the stage with bands like In This Moment, The Union Underground, and A Killers Confession so check out their tour page on FB to get all the details of when they will be in a town near you! Remember, the bands need our support and work hard to bring us the music we love; so get out there and catch a live show, buy their merch, and tell a friend!

Those of you who know me, understand my thirst for true talent in the music scene, and when I find it I get so stoked; especially when the whole album is good! Pavement Entertainment continues to show the industry that they know what good music is! I have to tell you right now that One Way Mirrors 4th album “Capture” has literally blown my freaking mind! There is so much to offer here people, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the way One Way Mirror has incorporated so many genres in to their music. This band is so high energy with no compromise to quality, well thought out song structure, variety in their vocal performance styles, with killer riffs and solos! Their sound is huge; mixing together a melodic rock approach combining elements of American hard rock and European melodic metal. It is so amazing when you connect with a band, feel the music, and find yourself beating the steering wheel of your car while belting out the song lyrics at the top of your lungs! This band rips and it is my absolute pleasure to promote such a talented group of guys! Check them out on Facebook, Twitter, and on their web site at: http://www.one-waymirror.com/. A.D.D “Core” Releases via Pavement Entertainment on March 24, 2015

I am going to sound like a broken record here but damn, Pavement keeps showing us all that they know what is hot and have signed yet another fantastic band called A.D.D. from Chicago, Illinois. A.D.D. brings a great new album boasting a Heavy Hard Rock feel with moments of pure Metal at its finest! The band combines vocal talents with Matilda Moon bringing a sexy raspy sound that is totally Metal and Jeremy Sparta on guitar and singing along with Matilda; it’s a great combination and brings out a deeper emotion to their music. Dave Adams and Jeremy bring heavy riffs and ripping solos while Jason Delismon keeps the band tight and heavy on the drums! If you’re a fan of Godsmack, Dark New Day, Lita Ford, or Halestorm, you will love A.D.D.! Look for it in stores and iTunes on March 24th and then crank it up; this album is HOT!

The Veer Union ”Decade”  Pavement Entertainment Release: 29 January 2016

Since 2001, Crispin Earl has been writing, singing, and producing songs for his solo project called The Veer Union. With 6 studio albums under his belt, his latest album “Decade” may very well be his finest effort to date! It is no secret that Crispin has struggled with depression over the years and yet has continued to push through those struggles to do what matters most, and that is to create amazing music! This album is so intense, so deep, and to me, I can feel the struggle being worked out through his song writing; not only the dark struggles but also the triumph of overcoming as you will hear in the songs “We all will” and “Defying Gravity”. The song writing is brilliant, heart felt, and I feel that it sends a message of hope to so many people who struggle with depression; that you CAN rise above. The current lineup of musicians couldn’t be better! With Ryan Ramsdell on Rhythm Guitars, Dan Sittler on Lead Guitar/Vocal Harmonies, Touring Drummer Tyler Reimer and Amal Wijayanayake on Bass Guitar/Scream Vocals, the Veer Union is ready for their United States tour kicking off February 18th in San Diego with the help of their new labels Pavement Entertainment and Rock Shop Entertainment and longtime friend and manager Erik Baker from Streetsmart Management. Bottom line is If you are looking for an album that grabs your very core, an album that is relatable, that you can sing along to at the top of your lungs, and you’re not afraid to maybe shed a few tears; this album is absolutely for you! It is no wonder why Pavement has signed The Veer Union; this band is AMAZING! You can pick up a copy of “Decade” on iTunes, Amazon, and other retailers on the 29th of January. Make sure and check out their different media sites and throw them a like, share their music with a friend, and check to see when The Veer Union will be in a city near you!

Gabriel And The Apocalypse “The Ghost Parade” - Pavement Entertainment Inc. Released on October 7th 2016

It’s funny how we can judge a band by their name or by their album cover. Not necessarily a negative judgement but rather an assumption of what you might hear. Gabriel and the Apocalypse put a nice big smile on my face, and not that I doubted that I would like them, I just had no idea what to expect. Coming from Minneapolis Minnesota and brought to us by Pavement Entertainment Inc, Gabriel and the Apocalypse brings us an Industrial Rock sound that any Godhead, NIN, Marilyn Manson, Skinbound, and Kidney Thieves fan will absolutely love! This band has captured the essence of the Industrial Rock sound that made the late 80’s and 90’s so interesting and vibrant, with unique sound mixtures and a gothic dark style that embraces that tantalizing side of us that is dark and mysterious, and I am so stoked to hear this sound come back! On the microphone is Lindey Gabriel, a sexy, killer vocalist, and front woman who knows how to get a crowd going! Lindey shows us what a killer vocal range she has with that natural ability to reach right into your soul and shake you with a passion that is undeniable! Let’s not forget that this amazing front woman has a band backing her that is equal to the task. I love the industrial sound they perform! The band implements so much texture, keeping their song writing complex and sophisticated.  Jake LaCore and Joey Conelly give us a crunchy industrial guitar sound that will satisfy the Metal sound we all love to bang our heads to while Zach Williams on drums and JACE on the bass keep the rhythms tight and heavy! And finally let’s not forget the most critical component of what finishes off their industrial/gothic sound with Figgles McGee on the Keys/Samples. Let me be very clear about something, you cannot just add whatever sounds you want to try and make your sound unique, there is a fine line to what makes something sound like it was meant to be and shit some bands just stick in there, just to try and set their sound apart from others; different isn’t always good. According to Lindy, "The Ghost Parade" is a concept record that brings you on a music roller coaster ride. From in your face songs like "March of the Dolls" to stripped down emotional songs like" Behind the Sun", this record still maintains a taste of the usual GATA anthems on politics and world issues, but as a whole it is more personal.  I feel as a writer and lyricist it is more abstract & poetic. I feel more exposed and vulnerable. It's honest. It flows and twists through different waves and moods from beginning to end.” Check out this amazing addition to the Pavement family and a permanent addition to my music library! You can check out their new album “The Ghost Parade” and purchase it on iTunes and other retail outlets. Be sure to show them some love and support on their media sites and help spread the word about Gabriel And The Apocalypse!
